How to Compare AI Responses Side by Side in BOKBOK
BOKBOK gives you a special Model Comparison view where you can ask one question and see two different AI responses side by side. This helps you quickly decide which style of reply feels clearer, more natural, and more useful for your customers.

Step 1: Open the Compare Tab for a Chatbot
First, sign in to BOKBOK and go to your dashboard. From your list of chatbots, click on the one you want to experiment with.
At the top of the chatbot detail page, you'll see several tabs such as Chat, Activity, Analytics, Sources, Integrations, and more. Click on the tab named Compare. This opens a special screen with two chat areas side by side.
Step 2: Understand the Two Panels
In the Compare view, the screen is split into two panels: a left side and a right side. Each side shows its own version of the conversation.
- Both sides share the same question that you type at the bottom.
- Each side gives its own answer based on the settings you choose for that side.
- You can scroll through the replies and copy any message with a single click.
Think of it like testing two different "styles" of your chatbot at the same time, without having to switch back and forth between screens.
Step 3: Configure How Each Side Behaves
At the top-right of the Compare screen, you'll see a button called Configure Models. When you click it, a setup window appears where you can control how the left panel and the right panel behave.
For each side, you can:
- Choose which behaviour style you want to test (for example, more careful vs more creative).
- Decide how short or long the replies should be, using a simple slider from short to long.
- Optionally add a custom instruction (system prompt) that tells that side how to talk. For example: "Explain things in very simple language" or "Answer like a friendly support agent".
You don't need to understand any technical words—just think of it as adjusting how your chatbot sounds and how detailed the responses should be.
Step 4: Ask One Question, Get Two Answers
At the bottom of the screen, there is one message box. Whatever you type there will be sent to both sides at the same time when you press the Compare button.
- Type your test question, just like you would in the normal Chat tab.
- Click the Compare button.
- Watch as both sides reply one after another. You will see two different answers to the same question, side by side.
Under the hood, BOKBOK is keeping track of your points and using them for each comparison, but you don't need to worry about any of the technical details. You just see the replies appear.
This makes it very easy to spot which answer looks clearer, more on-brand, or more helpful for your real customers.
Step 5: View Source Context When You Need It
Sometimes you might want to know why a particular answer was given. In the Compare view, you can open the "source context" for an answer.
Next to each reply, there is a small button that lets you see the text BOKBOK used as background information when preparing that answer. This could be content from your website, documents, or other sources you connected to your chatbot.
This is useful when you want to double-check that the AI is pulling from the right material and not inventing details you don't want.
Step 6: Copy and Reuse the Best Replies
When you find a reply you really like, you can quickly copy it with a single click on the copy icon. This works for both sides.
You can then reuse that reply in your FAQs, website content, saved replies, or even as a template for future answers that your team sends manually.
Over time, this helps you turn your favourite AI replies into a consistent voice for your brand.
Practical Ideas for Using the Compare Tab
- Test which style explains your pricing or refund policy more clearly before you let customers see it.
- Try one side that is more formal and another that is more friendly to see which fits your brand.
- Use it to design better answers for very common questions, then keep the version you like best.
You don't have to know anything about AI models to get value from this—just ask questions and compare which answer you would prefer if you were the customer.
A Safe Playground for Your Chatbot
The Compare tab in BOKBOK is like a safe playground where you can try out different behaviours for your chatbot without breaking anything for your real users.
By regularly testing two versions of the same answer side by side, you'll slowly discover what works best for your audience—and you can shape your chatbot into a reliable, helpful assistant that truly sounds like your brand.
